INTERCLASS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT 2026
Third Years 57 – 32 Second Years
The 2026 Hekima University College Interclass Tournament continued on Friday, 4 September 2026, with Team Pignatelli (Third Years) taking on Team Gonzaga (Second Years) in a basketball encounter at the JST Campus. The game began at about 3:10 p.m. and was played over four ten-minute quarters.
Team Gonzaga made a strong start, opening the scoring with four consecutive points before adding another from a penalty. Pignatelli responded with two quick three-pointers and a two-point basket, setting the tone for a competitive opening quarter. At the end of the first quarter, Pignatelli led Gonzaga 17–10.
The second quarter remained closely contested. Gonzaga scored 15 points while Pignatelli added 13, keeping the game competitive as both sides battled for control. Pignatelli still held an advantage going into the latter stages of the match.
The third quarter proved particularly tight, with neither side scoring during the opening five minutes. Gonzaga eventually opened the scoring with a two-point basket, and the quarter ended with both teams having scored seven points.
Pignatelli then pulled further ahead in the final quarter to complete a 57–32 victory over Gonzaga. The result gave the Third Years a strong start to their basketball campaign in the interclass competition.
The match showcased the competitive spirit of the Hekima Interclass Tournament while giving students from different years a chance to connect through sport. With the tournament continuing across September, attention now turns to the next scheduled fixture.
