Dear Professor,
Today, we stand here not for a surprise exam—don’t worry—but to express our heartfelt gratitude. You had the courage (and the patience) to introduce us to Fundamental Theology, to the Sacramental Theology, to Christian Anthropology… and, as if that were not enough, you also lent a hand with the philosophy courses for the sisters. In short, you were a truly versatile professor—the kind of person one suspects might secretly have a double doctorate… or a double brain.
What struck us most was your unique style: a crystal-clear clarity—capable of turning a scholastic definition into an everyday truth—and at the same time an academic rigor that let no approximation slip by. You were both simple and demanding, accessible yet formidable. A mix that made us smile at times… and sweat quite often.
Your sense of humor in teaching also deserves special mention. (And let’s admit it, that’s not something just anyone can do.) Your pedagogy showed us that theology, far from being dry or dusty, can be a true intellectual—and spiritual—adventure. Fr. Indeed, you are a spiritual man.
But beyond the laughter, there was inspiration. Your lectures, your talks, your interventions expanded our horizons. You helped us understand not only what the Church believes, but also how and why it holds those beliefs. You shaped not only our minds but also our hearts.
So, on behalf of us all, THANK YOU. Thank you for your time, for your passion, and for your high standards that pulled us upward. Thank you also for that unique way of teaching: both serious and joyful, rigorous and deeply human.
Professor, know that your courses will remain in our memories… and so will your theological jokes—unfortunately for us.
